ate bambie saves the day

At the office:

One busy afternoon, sofia came to me and said “Ate, kelangan ko ng attire for the play tomorrow.” I replied “So?". She said “Sabi ni mama kaw daw bibili.” Before I could react, my phone rang. It was ate bing, sofia’s mom and my officemate. I totally forgot that she and sir jay, his husband was in Manila for sir jay’s visa processing. She asked if I could sneak out of the office to buy sofia’s attire. She said I was her last resort coz the kid badly needed the attire. I’m doomed! So as soon as I finished my task for the day, I grabbed sofia and rush to the nearest mall.

At the mall:

Gaisano South is the nearest mall from our office in marfori, so we were there after 5 minutes. It was 3pm so we still have 2 hours coz sofia’s carpool will arrive at 5pm. Then we rushed to 4th floor to the kids section first. Our goal is to find a green pants and a green jacket with hood. She’s going to be the turtle for the play so she needs to appear all in green.

When we got there, we instantly found sofia’s perfect pants and it’s very cheap. Finding the green pants was effortless but finding the jacket was chaotic. We found a jacket but not a plain green. We also found plain green jacket but without hood. Sofia and I argued a lot along the shopping coz I want to give up and just pick one of those jackets but she insisted what her teacher told her. She keep repeating “Ate, dark green jacket with hood po ang sabi ni teacher.” My last resort was the ladies section. So we dashed down the third floor and look all over the place. Eventually, we found a light green jacket. But before that we argued once again coz earlier she keep on saying that her teacher asked for dark green jacket but now she said that its okay as long as it is green. Knowing sofia, she won’t stop ‘til she gets what she wants. As expected, she keeps on reasoning out. She told me that people won’t notice the difference but I can tell she really like the jacket not just for the sake of having an attire but more than that. Funny thing was she found another green jacket that I like. So we went to the fitting room to check it out. And she was like sales-talking me the jacket but I really find it too undersized for me. In the end, I bought the jacket for her and went home tired. It was 4:45 in the afternoon, just in time for her carpool.

With the experience, I realized that having a daughter or son is no easy thing. Especially at sofia’s age who already know and will argue what she wants to wear. I really thought that you can make every kid wear anything. It was stressful but at the same time enjoyable.

thinking out loud

I love taking pictures. It’s very obvious for those people I’m connected with in friendster and multiply. As of today, I have 313 photos in friendster and 13 albums (I lose count of the photos) in multiply and not to mention my rarely updated facebook, myspace accounts and pictures in my laptop.

I don’t only take narcissistic photos but also photos of sites and sceneries as long as it looks fascinating to me.
Here comes the revelation. I took all my photos with my handphone (N6630). L Of course I’m happy with my photos but I’m not satisfied. For the record, my phone has 1.3 megapixels. With that, my photos aren’t that sharp or detailed. I’ve been to beautiful places but when I take pictures with my phone I always wish I have my own digital camera. To make the most of this wishful thinking, what I really want is a DSLR Camera and to be specific, an Olympus E-510. Here’s how it looks:
What really amaze me about this cam are the features such as 10megapixels, dust control, a live view LCD screen and built-in image stabilization. There’s this filter in the cam that prevents dust contamination to your cam. Dust is actually those irritating dark spots in your photos. Live view LCD screen is actually nothing new to digital cams. After you take pictures you can view immediately the upshot. What I like most with this cam is the built-in image stabilization. Because sometimes I have shaky hands when taking pictures that I get really annoyed with the outcome. So this camera is really perfect for me. The last time I checked, this cam costs $585 which is really cheaper than its introductory price (of course). I hope before this year end, I’ll be able to buy this cam. This is so going to my 2008 wish list.

writer's block

Kinda can relate to this...

I learn something today…

… NEVER leave your friendster account logged in. Especially if you access it in internet café’s.

Before my sister leave for Cagayan de oro, she passed by my cousin’s internet café to check her email, friendster or multiply account. When she arrived at my aunt’s house in Cagayan, she tried many times logging in her friendster account but she failed. So she started worrying. So she asked her bf to check her friendster profile. And presto! Flashing in her shoutbox is: "owned by punkskaPRINCESS88". Aside from this, her featured friends are all gone. Instead, the sole featured friend is punkskaPRINCESS88’s profile. After few minutes, this text flashes on screen in black background: owned by: punkskaPRINCESS88 http://www.friendster.com/punkskaprincess88. So my sister ym-ed me for help. The perpetrator really is the punkskaPRINCESS88. I checked her profile but it was suspended by friendster. So what really happened is that, my sister forgot to log out her account, someone use the same pc, changed the email and password of the said account so its like claiming it her own.

I am a friendster addict. I always check and maintain my account every day, twice or thrice. During my free time, I do some modifications on my profile like my personal info, put some applications, design my own background image and upload my latest photos. So it’s really a BIG deal for me if my account’s get stolen.

If you know who this punkskaPRINCESS88, please let me know. I want her to know that it’s very unethical for someone to steal someone else’s belonging.
